現在は、高等師範科を修了しています。和裁、特に運針は簡単ではなく、時間も手間もかかりました。
それでも諦めずに向き合い、最後まで一人で仕上げました。自分で縫い、時間と手をかけたものを身にまとう瞬間は、とても胸に残ります。丁寧で根気強い先生のご指導に心から感謝しています。

I have now graduated. Wasai, especially unshin, required time, repetition, and patience.
I didn’t give up, and completed it entirely by myself. Wearing something you sewed yourself,

この着物は、2021年の12月の17日に師範科の入学式のために選んだもの👘
せっかくの特別な日だから、
大好きなお義母さんの着物を着たくて❤️
約50年前、
お義母さんのために仕立てられた大切な一枚✨ あれから2年😳
もうすぐ高等師範科の卒業式。
嬉しい気持ちもあるけど、
大好きなクラスメイトと離れるのは正直寂しい😢
本当にあっという間だったなぁ⏳ ちなみに、よく「背が高いですね！」「足長い！」「昔の着物ってサイズ合わなくないですか？」って聞かれるけど、実は163cm😅
持ってる着物は全部中古か、
夫のお母さんから受け継いだもの🥰 お義母さんの着物はだいたい153〜155cm。
でも、工夫すればこの通り！✨
着付けを始めた頃は、
小さい着物をどう綺麗に着るかめちゃくちゃ研究した💪 こちらの素敵な着物は、ただの小紋ではなく、付け下げ小紋です👘
50年経ってもこうして袖を通せるのが本当に嬉しい🥹
やっぱり着物って、想いをつなぐものだよね🌟

A special day calls for a special kimono—
so I chose my mother in law’s, made for her nearly 50 years ago. 👘❤️
And now, I get to wear it too.🥹 Fast forward two years, and my advanced instructor course graduation is just around the corner! 😳
I’m beyond excited, but also a little sentimental
—time has flown by, and I’ll miss my amazing classmates so much.😢 By the way, I always get comments like, “You’re so tall!” “Your legs are so long!” or “Aren’t vintage kimonos too short for you?”
But actually, I’m 163 cm (5’4’’)😅, and every kimono I own is either secondhand or inherited from my mother-in-law.🥰 Her kimonos range from 153–155 cm (5’0’’–5’1’’), but with the right techniques, they fit beautifully! ✨
When I first started learning kimono dressing,
I spent hours figuring out how to make smaller kimonos work—and now, I love the challenge.💪 This precious kimono from my mother in law is not a regular komon but a tsukesage komon.👘✨

着付けを始めた時は短い着物ばかり着ていました。なぜかというとサイズより柄の好みを優先していました(今は完全に逆なんですけど)😅
なので最初からどうやって短い着物を綺麗に着れるか悩んでいました。💦
その頃は正社員で働いていたので着物学校に通っておらず、YOUTUBEを見て着付けを学んでいました。📺
いっぱいビデオを観てこの方法を見つけました！すごく助かりましたので私も教えたかったです。💡
そのおかげで旦那のお母さんの着物も着れますので何よりです！❤️👘🌟

When I first started wearing kimono, I mostly wore short ones! The reason?
I prioritized patterns over size! (Now it’s completely the opposite, though.)😅
So from the very beginning, I was struggling to find a way to wear short kimono neatly.💦 At that time, I was working full-time, so I couldn’t attend a kimono school.🏫👘
Instead, I learned kitsuke by watching YouTube videos!📺
After watching tons of videos, I finally found this method. It helped me so much that I wanted to share it with you!💡 Thanks to this technique, I can also wear my mother-in-law’s kimono, which is a huge plus! ❤️👘🌟

I’ve actually been thinking about this coordination since last year, slowly collecting each item one by one until everything finally came together.
When I wore it for the first time, it fit so naturally that it made me genuinely happy, as if the whole look had finally taken shape. From the embroidered white snake haneri, to the Hakata-ori obi, the snake-shaped obidome, the leather sanbuhimo, and the little frog netsuke : every detail was chosen just for this theme. Which part of this coordination did you like the most?

Displaying them on a rotating stand keeps everything visible, easy to choose, and honestly… it feels like a tiny art gallery at home. I even rediscovered pieces I forgot I owned, and choosing accessories for the day has become so much more fun. Which komono should I organize next?

Wearing kimono in places like this always reminds me why I fell in love with this culture: the slowness, the intention, the beauty in details.

パリでのきもの撮影の舞台裏です！🇫🇷👘📸 あの日は寒くて家を出るときは、天気が悪かったですがパリに着いたら太陽が綺麗に光ってとってもラッキーでした！☀️✨ 景色・撮影スポット・光・タイミングと全てが理想的でした！🤩✨
しかもパリなのに撮影場所は全く人がいなかったのでゆっくり撮れました〜😁✌️ いつも一人で撮影しますが今回は素晴らしい二人のアシスタントがいました：両親でした！笑😂 母にビデオを撮ってもらって、父がカメラのフレームの中で私の位置を教えたり、ピント調整したり、カメラのシャッター押してくれました！🥰 困った時用に着物の袖にはカメラ用のリモートがありました👌 二人は、一所懸命頑張ってくれて最高なアシスタントでした！🏆🥇⭐️

Behind the scenes of my kimono photoshoot in Paris! 🇫🇷👘📸 That day, it was freezing, and the weather looked bad when I left home, but by the time I arrived in Paris, the sun was shining beautifully—I was so lucky! ☀️✨ The scenery, the shooting spots, the lighting, the timing—everything was just perfect! 🤩✨
And even though it was Paris, there was absolutely no one at the location, so I could take my time shooting! 😁✌️ I usually shoot alone, but this time, I had two amazing assistants—my parents! 😂 My mom filmed the video, and my dad helped position me in the frame, adjusted the focus, and even pressed the shutter! 🥰 Just in case, I had a camera remote hidden in my kimono sleeve.👌 Both of them worked so hard and were the best assistants ever! 🏆🥇⭐️

色々な着物収納を調べて、最終的にIKEAのKALLAXに決めたのですが…合計81.5kgもあって、1人で組み立てるのは完全に筋トレでした😂💪
大変だったけど、和室が少しずつ理想の空間に変わっていくのを見て、本当に嬉しかったです🥹❤️

I renovated our Japanese-style room to create the perfect space for my kitsuke projects 👘✨
After researching different kimono storage ideas, I finally chose the KALLAX shelf from IKEA.
I didn’t expect it to weigh 81.5 kg… so assembling it alone turned into a full workout 😂💪
It was intense, but watching the room transform piece by piece made me so happy.
This space is becoming exactly what I envisioned 🥹❤️

Nagoya obi: kimono recycle shop
Obiage: gifted
Obijime: genuine leather (Mercari) 900 yen
Obidome: Mercari 1,600 yen
Embroidered haneri: Rakuten 2,750 yen
Embroidered cord zori sandals: gifted through a collaboration with @iwasa_official.waso (46,200 yen) When I put together my coordinates, I usually search through kimono recycle shops, Mercari, Rakuten, and Amazon.
